Circa 1822 ELI BROWN COMPANY FIELD DRUM
Field Drum, Eli Brown, Windsor, Connecticut, circa 1822. This drum features a lapped-seam maple shell applied with a brass tack pattern. It bears the original paper manufacturer’s label reading "ELI BROWN, DRUM MANUFACTURER, Windsor (Wintonbury Soc.) Con. 1822 No. 1866". It features blue-painted hoop (painted in 20th C with what appears to be original Red paint under), non-original ropes and non-original leather ears. Dimensional diameter is appx. 17 and ¼ inches.
